  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, version 7.0
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

When you import an HTML form that contains a drop-down field with more than 25 items (<option> tags), Word Internet Assistant drops all items past the twenty-fifth item.

CAUSE

Your form contains a drop-down field with more than 25 items. Word is limited to a maximum of 25 items in a drop-down form field.

RESOLUTION

If you need to add more than 25 items to the drop-down form, you can open the HTML document as text only and type in the HTML markup for the <option> items, saving the file as a text file.

If you open or save such a file using the HTML converter, the converter will delete all <option> items above 25.

MORE INFORMATION

When you design forms in Internet Assistant for Word, you are limited to 25 items in a drop-down form field. Word generates the following warning message if you try to exceed this limit:

You can have no more than 25 items in your drop down list box.
