When you open a document by double-clicking its filename in File Manager
and the document has been saved with the Read-Only Recommended option
selected, no "Read-Only" message appears in Word.

MORE INFORMATIONSelect the Read-Only Recommended option when you want to recommend, but not require, that others open a document as read-only. When a user opens a document protected with this option, Word indicates that the document should be opened as read-only unless changes need to be saved.
