SYMPTOMSYou get the following error message when you define a custom property of type Date when the value includes hyphens:
CAUSEThe Regional Settings for Short Date Style and Date Separator are defined using a slash (/) instead of a hyphen. (To locate this option, click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Regional Settings, and then click the Date tab.) STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 7.0 and 7.0a for Windows 95 and Word 97 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. WORKAROUNDSMethod 1: Define the value as it is defined in the Regional Settings.Method 2: Modify the Regional Settings so that the Short Date Style and the Date Separator are defined using a hyphen separator instead of a slash separator.
