The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you open Word as a normal window (not maximized and not minimized, but showing some of the desktop behind it), the window is partially hidden by the taskbar or Office Shortcut Bar. CAUSE
This happens when the taskbar or Office Shortcut Bar is configured with
the following settings:
WORKAROUNDSMethod 1: Click the Start Bar or Office Shortcut Bar with the right mouse button, click Properties, and clear the Always On Top check box.Method 2: Click the Start Bar or Office Shortcut Bar with the right mouse button, click Properties, and select Auto Hide. Method 3: Move the taskbar or Office Shortcut Bar to the right side of the screen or to the bottom of the screen. Method 4: Run Word in a maximized window. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Word listed at the beginning of this article. Each time you open Word in the normal window mode, less of the window
will be visible. Therefore, at some point you may not be able to see
the window at all. If this happens, you can reposition the window with
one of the following methods:
