SUMMARYThis article explains how to reset or disable the list of fonts at the top of the Font drop-down (sometimes called most recently used font list in Word). Word 7.xThe most recently used font list shows only the six most recently used fonts. In this version, you can disable the list completely.Word 6.xIn Word version 6.x on all platforms, the most recently used font list tracks the nine most recently used fonts.The list can be turned off in Word 6.0 for the Macintosh and Word 6.0 for Windows NT, but it can be reset only in Word 6.0 for Windows. In Word 6.0 for Windows, removing the Winword.opt eliminates the current list of most recently used fonts. The next time you use Word, the list will be rebuilt and will again show the fonts you have used.
