SYMPTOMSWhen you embed an object in Word (such as a WordArt object) and you then copy the embedded object and Paste Link it in another program, the embedded object's dimensions do not match those of the original embedded object. CAUSEWhen Word copies the embedded object to the Clipboard, it sets the object's width to be the distance between Word's left and right margins. For example, if you embed a WordArt object in Word and Word is using left and right margins of 1 inch, when you copy and then Paste Link the WordArt object into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the WordArt object will be 6.5 inches wide in Microsoft Excel. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Word versions listed above. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows.
