SYMPTOMSWhen you open a Word 97 document in Word for Windows 95, version 7.0, brackets that exist in the number format are lost. This problem occurs when the numbering format is applied only to selected text (it does not occur if the numbering is applied to the whole document). CAUSEThis problem is caused by the Word 97 Import Converter (Mswrd832.cnv) that ships with Office 97 in the ValuPack folder (Wrd97cnv.exe). RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, upgrade to the latest version of the Word 97-2000 Import Converter.
