You inserted a hard carriage return after the footnote or endnote text
reference number and then you typed your footer or endnote.
WORKAROUNDRemove the hard carriage return before the footnote or endnote text reference mark. If you need extra line spacing in the footnotes or endnotes, use any of the following methods. Method 1Modify the Footnote or Endnote Text style to include space before or after the paragraph.Method 2Add the hard carriage return when you type the footnote text, by pressing ENTER at the end of your footnote text.Method 3Position the insertion point after the text of the previous footnote or endnote and then press ENTER.STATUSWe are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
