SYMPTOMSIf you paste cells from a Microsoft Excel 97 worksheet into a mail message, the result is a picture pasted into the mail message, instead of an embedded Microsoft Excel object. CAUSEWhen you paste something into a message, Microsoft Exchange is not notified that you are pasting from Microsoft Excel, so it uses a default paste type of "picture" for the object, rather than embedding the clipboard contents as an embedded Microsoft Excel object. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Exchange clients, version 4.0, listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Exchange Server 4.0 U.S. Service Pack 4.
