SYMPTOMSWhen you merge multiple documents that contain comments (annotations), you receive the following message: NOTE: This message occurs when you merge the second and remaining documents into the original (uncommented) document. CAUSEThis functionality is by design. When you insert a comment into a document, Word automatically turns on the "Track changes while editing" option. WORKAROUNDWhen you receive the message listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article, click OK. Word will continue to merge the comments into the original document.
