SUMMARY
To change all occurrences of a particular word from uppercase to
lowercase letters (or vice versa), follow the appropriate procedure
below.
Word 5.x, 6.x, 97, 98
- Select the first occurrence of the word.
- On the Format menu, click Change Case. Click the case option
you want and then click OK.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Click anywhere else in the document to cancel the selection.
- On the Edit menu, click Replace.
- In the Find What box, type the word you want to replace;
uppercase and lowercase do not matter here.
- Click to place the insertion point in the Replace With box, and then
click Clipboard Contents on the Special list.
NOTE: For Word 97 for Windows and Word 98 Macintosh Edition, you may
need to click the More button first.
- Make sure the Match Case check box is clear.
- Click Replace All.
Word 3.x, 4.0
- Select the first occurrence of the word.
- Make any necessary changes (replace capital letters with lowercase
letters, reformat, and so on).
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Click anywhere else in the document to cancel the selection.
- On the Search menu, click Change.
- In the Find What box, type the word you want to replace (case does
not matter here).
- In the Change To box, type:
^c
NOTE: Create the caret (^) by pressing SHIFT+6.
- Click Change All.
