Support for Color PostScript Printers

Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, versions 5.0, 5.5, 6.0

SUMMARY

The PostScript printer drivers for Microsoft Word for DOS version 5.0 do not support color PostScript printing. Word version 5.5 and 6.0 supports color PostScript printing with the PSCOLOR.PRD printer driver. The following printers are supported by this driver in 5.5:

QMS ColorScript 100 (Model 10 and Model 30)
Tektronix Phaser CP

Word version 6.0 supports the following printers using the PSCOLOR.PRD printer driver:

IBM Color JetPrinter PS 4079
NEC ColorMate PS
QMS ColorScript 100 (Model 10 and Model 30)
Tektronix Phaser CP

PSCOLOR.PRD is available for Word 5.0 and 5.5 on the Supplemental Printers Disk #4 (5.25-inch version) or on Disk #2 (3.5-inch version in the \PRINT4 subdirectory). To obtain the Supplemental Printer Disks, call Microsoft Sales Information Center at (800) 426-9400.

The updated PSCOLOR.PRD is available on the Word 6.0 shipped disks.
