ID: Q69273

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, versions 5.0, 5.5, 6.0

SUMMARY

Bookmarks can be cross-referenced by typing page:, para-num:, or footnote:, followed by the defined bookmark name, and then pressing F3.

Because these references are not considered text, they cannot be found by searching for the bookmark name or the reference.

To locate cross references to bookmarks in Word version 5.0, choose Search, and type ALT+Keypad 8 in the "text:" field.

To locate cross references to bookmarks in Word versions 5.5, 6.0, choose Edit Search, and type ^008 in the "Text to Search for" text box.

To search for the bookmark itself in Word version 5.0, choose Jump bookmarK. To search for a bookmark in Word versions 5.5, 6.0, choose Edit Go To.
