Word 5.50: Setup Hangs with Quad EGA 6-Switch Card

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Word version 5.50 Setup program may hang if a Quad EGA video adapter card is present. This will happen if the ROM BIOS version on the Quad EGA 6 switch card is not version 1.08 or later. Quadram manufactures a 4- and 6-switch Quad EGA card; this problem occurs only with the Quad EGA 6-switch card.

Customers experiencing this problem should contact Quadram to obtain the updated ROM BIOS, free of charge. Customers can either send in the card and Quadram will install the new ROM BIOS, or customers can request that the updated BIOS be mailed to them.
