SUMMARY

The Word for Windows version 2.0 AutoCAD ADI graphics import filter, ADIMPORT.FLT, supports binary plotter file output from all versions of AutoCAD via the Autodesk Device Interface (ADI).

The ADI binary graphics filter supports three- and two-dimensional AutoCAD exports, whereas the AutoCAD DXF graphic filter also supplied with Word for Windows 2.0 is designed to support only two-dimensional images.

Installation

The Word for Windows ADI binary graphics filter should be placed in:
<Windows directory>\MSAPPS\GRPHFLT
If the filters are kept elsewhere (for example, C:\POWERPNT or C:\WINWORD), delete the older filters and add entries to the WIN.INI file describing each new filter in a section called [MS Graphics Import Filters].

For example, WIN.INI may include entries similar to the following:

AutoCAD Import(.PLT)=c:\WINDOWS\MSAPPS\GRPHFLT\ADIMPORT.FLT,PLT
AutoCAD Format 2-D(.DXF)=C:\WIN31\MSAPPS\grphflt\dxfimp.flt,DXF
