SUMMARYIf your WIN.INI file is flagged read-only and you make a Windows system configuration change from within Word for Windows (for example, changing the printer in the Printer Setup dialog box), Word will not warn you that the change cannot be saved to the WIN.INI file. WORKAROUNDThe read-only attribute must be removed from the WIN.INI file to enable changes to be saved. To remove the read-only attribute from the WIN.INI file, open File Manager, and select the WIN.INI file. From the File menu, choose Change Attributes, and clear the Read-Only option in the dialog box. Steps to Reproduce Problem
