SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Word for Windows you can move a selection of text and or graphics by selecting the text or graphics and dragging your selection to a new location. A dotted vertical bar indicates where the text or graphics will be placed when you release the left mouse button. If you move the mouse cursor to the ruler on the screen before releasing the left mouse button, the dotted vertical bar disappears when bringing the mouse cursor directly down from the ruler.
