Reference Not Preserved If Pasted from Annotation Window

ID: Q78126

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.1a, 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c, 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SUMMARY

When copying annotation text from the annotation pane and pasting it into the body of a document in Microsoft Word for Windows, the author's initials and the annotation number are lost; however, the annotation text remains intact. The Clipboard displays the content of the text to be pasted as follows:

   [0] annotation text.
Copying and pasting from the main document rather than the annotation pane preserves the annotation reference as displayed.
