WordArt: Using Button-Style Text in WordArt 1.0

ID: Q79517

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft WordArt, version 1.0

SUMMARY

The Button Style of WordArt text was ideally designed to be used with three lines of text. The first line will arch up, the second line will be printed horizontally in the center, and the third line will arch down. If four or more lines are typed, the extra lines will be ignored when the button style is chosen.

If you use only a single line of text, that text will appear three times.

If you use two lines of text, the first line will arch up, and the second line will be duplicated; one copy will appear in the center, and the other will arch down.

RESOLUTION

To get the top line to arch up and the second line to arch down, follow these steps:

  1. In WordArt, type the text in the following manner:
    First Line
    (blank line)
    Second Line

  2. From the Style list, select Button.

  3. Click OK or Apply.

STATUS

This behavior is by program design.
