SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Word for Windows, the Match Whole Word Only option (available when using Edit Find or Edit Replace) does not reset itself properly if the search criterion begins with a space or a caret. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Word for Windows listed above. We are researching this problem, and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, select and then clear the Match Whole Word Only option to reset the dialog box. Steps to Reproduce Problem
