SUMMARY

This article describes how to place the same page number on both the left and right pages of a Microsoft Word for Windows document. This page-numbering format is useful for producing training documents in which trainer information (such as delivery notes) is located on the left page and student information is located on the right page.

First, establish different odd and even headers:

In Word version 6.0, 7.0, and 97, choose Page Setup from the File menu. Choose the Layout tab. Under Headers and Footers, choose Different Odd and Even. Click OK.

In Word version 2.0, choose Header/Footer from the View menu. Select the Different Odd and Even Pages box.

In the even header, insert the following field:

{={page}/2}
In the odd header, insert the following field:
{=({page}+1)/2}
