Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c, 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
SUMMARY
The 'Hanging Indent By' setting will default to the previous setting
each time you choose 'Bullets And Numbering' from the 'Tools' menu in
Word for Windows 2.0. The defaults will be remembered every time
except when the setting is 0 (zero) inches when used in versions
2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c, and 6.0 of Word for Windows.
By contrast, Word 2.0 resets the Hanging Indent By setting to .25 inch each
time you choose the Bullets and Numbering command.
In all 2.x versions of Word for Windows, you cannot use the "spin" arrows
next to the Hanging Indent By box to select 0 inches. The value clears
between 0.1 inch and -0.1 inch.
Setting a Hanging Indent By value to 0 inches is not the same as canceling
the Hanging Indent By selection. If you cancel the selection, Word does not
insert a tab between the bullet or number and the text. By contrast, if you
type 0" in the Hanging Indent By box, Word does insert a tab between the
bullet or number and the text.
