Equation Editor Object Limited to 6 Inches

STATUS
Equation Editor objects inserted into Microsoft Word for Windows are
limited to 6 inches in width. As more data is entered into the
equation, Word will scale the object to 6 inches, regardless of the
margin settings in Word.
Equation Editor objects inserted into Microsoft Windows Write will not
be scaled, because Write does not have a scaling capability.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of
Microsoft Word for Windows listed above. This problem was corrected in
version 6.0 of Word for Windows.
WORKAROUND- Select the equation.
- Click and drag the handle in the bottom right corner of the object
to extend the equation to the desired length/size.

From the Format menu, choose Picture. Select the Reset button to set
scaling to 100 percent.
Note: If the equation is updated, the object's scaling will revert to
6 inches.
