SYMPTOMSWhen Track Changes is turned on, if you use CTRL+DELETE to delete one word to the right of the insertion point, two words may be deleted. CAUSE
This problem occurs when the Deleted Text option is set to ^, #, or Hidden.

the Track Changes tab.)
WORKAROUNDUse the CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW key combination, and then press DELETE. Do not use the CTRL+DELETE key combination. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed

functions quickly. The CTRL+DELETE key combination deletes the next word
to the right of the insertion point. The CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW key
combination selects from the insertion point to the end of the next
word.
