ID: Q166066

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word Viewer 97-2000

SYMPTOMS

If you follow a link to an .rtf (Rich Text Format) file from within Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Word Viewer 97-2000 starts as a stand-alone application (it is not started from within Netscape Navigator).

If you follow an Internet link to a .doc file from inside Netscape Navigator, the file starts Word Viewer from within Navigator.

NOTE: Internet links to .rtf and .doc files correctly start Microsoft Word Viewer in-place from Microsoft Internet Explorer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
