WD97: Banyan Vines Drives Do Not Appear in Word Drive List

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Banyan Vines client version, 5.56(5) with Microsoft Windows NT 3.51, the drives mapped by the client do not appear in the drive list in Microsoft Word 97.


CAUSE


STATUS

Contact Banyan Vines for the latest client version. As of June 97, the current release of the Banyan client for NT is release 4, version 7.26. Microsoft has not tested this version and therefore cannot guarantee its results.

MORE INFORMATION

Drives that appear in Microsoft Windows File Manager can be accessed in Word by specifying the correct drive letter in the file name.

For example, if you map a Banyan Vines drive as drive E:, it does not appear in the Look In list in the Open dialog box. However, you can view the files on drive E: by typing E: in the File Name box and pressing ENTER.
