WD97: Table Borders Lost When Table Pasted or Linked

SYMPTOMS

The outside and some interior borders on your table are missing after you paste or paste link the table as a Picture or as a Microsoft Word Document object.


WORKAROUND

Use one of the following workarounds to paste your table with borders.

Method 1: Link the Table as Formatted Text (RTF)

  1. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.


  2. Click Paste Link.


  3. In the As list, click Formatted Text (RTF), and then click OK.


Method 2: Crop the Table Boundaries

  1. Click to select the Picture or Word Document object (your pasted table object.)


  2. On the Picture toolbar, click Crop.


  3. Position the cropping tool over a sizing handle and drag it.


For more information about cropping objects, click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the Index tab in Word Help, type the following text
drawing objects, cropping
and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Resize or crop a drawing object" topic. If you are unable to find the information you need, ask the Office Assistant.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
