STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
When creating a chart whose source range does not include labels, Microsoft Excel automatically labels the series as Series. If you have more than one series, Excel enumerates them as Series1, Series2, and so on. However, if you publish an Excel chart with the generic series labels as an interactive Web page, the resulting chart component does not maintain the enumeration when you open it in the browser. The labels appear in the chart legend as Series. The Microsoft Office Chart Component does, however, maintain the series order and places the appropriately colored markers next to the individual legend items. Additional query words: OFF2000 XL2000
