SYMPTOMSWhen you apply a custom time format using lowercase am or pm, the time format reverts to uppercase AM or PM. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONYou can apply a custom time format to cells on a worksheet using the Format Cells dialog box (on the Format menu, click Cells). In earlier versions of Excel, you can display lowercase am/pm by using a custom number format similar to the following: h:mm am/pmFor example, in Microsoft Excel 97, the custom time format h:mm am/pm allows the time 8:30 A.M. to appear as lowercase, 8:30 am. However, in Microsoft Excel 2000, this same custom format appears as uppercase, 8:30 AM. REFERENCESFor more information about time formats, click Microsoft Excel Help on the
Help menu, type "Create a custom number format" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard,
