SYMPTOMSWhen you paste link a Microsoft Excel chart object into a Microsoft PowerPoint slide, the right portion of the chart object appears truncated. If the object has a border, the bottom and right borders are missing. CAUSEThis problem occurs when you reduce the zoom percentage of the chart object to less than 100 percent before you copy it. The amount of the object that is truncated depends on the zoom percentage. When the zoom percentage is closer to 100 percent, you will see more (or all) of the object when pasting it. For example, at a 50 percent zoom level, you will see the legend in the pasted object. At a 25 percent zoom level, the right half of the object will be missing. Not only will the legend be missing, but some of the series columns may also be missing. In both cases, the right and bottom borders will be missing. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use the appropriate method for your situation. Copy and Paste the ObjectTo paste a fully rendered object, copy the object by using one of the following methods.
Update the ObjectIf you already copied the object, you can update the object so that the chart area appears correctly by using one of the following methods. Note that you still may not see the bottom and right border of the object. If this is the case, you can remove the border from the object by selecting the object and clicking Selected Chart Area on the Format menu and then clicking None on the Patterns tab.Method 1: Update the Object Without Changing the Chart
Method 2: Update the Object After Changing the Chart
