XL2000: Medium Weight Dot or Dashed-Dot Borders Appear Solid in Browser

ID: Q215856

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel 2000
  • Microsoft Office Spreadsheet Component 9.0, run time

SYMPTOMS

If you publish a worksheet as an interactive Web page and view it in a browser, medium weight borders that use the dashed or dashed-dot line style may appear as solid lines instead.

CAUSE

The Microsoft Office Spreadsheet Component does not support publishing the thicker dashed or dashed-dot borders, and converts them to solid borders.

MORE INFORMATION

Thin borders that use the dashed or dashed-dot line style appear as expected when published as an interactive Web page.

The following additional differences in borders occur when you publish a worksheet as an interactive Web page:

  • The thinnest border, which looks like dots in a spreadsheet, becomes a thin solid line.

  • The double line border becomes a single thick line, which is thicker than the normal thick border.
