MORE INFORMATION

The Transition formula evaluation option allows Excel to evaluate formulas in a manner consistent with Lotus 1-2-3. This option is enabled automatically when you open a file that was created in Lotus 1-2-3.

When the Transition formula evaluation check box is selected, Excel evaluates text strings as 0, converts Boolean expressions to 0 or 1, and converts database criteria according to the rules used in Lotus 1-2-3.

For more information about Transition Formula Evaluation, click Microsoft Excel Help on the Help menu, type "Differences between Lotus 1-2-3 and Microsoft Excel functions" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topic.
