SYMPTOMSWhen you publish a Web page in Microsoft Excel and then reopen the page, cells which contained spilled text (more text than could fit in one cell) become merged cells. CAUSEThis problem occurs when you publish a selected range of cells as HTML, instead of saving the entire workbook as HTML. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, click Entire Workbook in the Save As dialog box, instead of clicking Selection or Publish. Unlike the Publish feature, the Save Entire Workbook feature is designed to "roundtrip" all data, formulas, and cell formatting. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words: XL2000
