ERROR MESSAGE

When you try to create a PivotTable, you receive the following error message:

A field in your source data has more unique items than can be used in a PivotTable. Microsoft Excel may not be able to create the PivotTable, or may create the PivotTable without the data from this field.
NOTE: Microsoft Office 2000 has built-in functionality that allows you to get more information about difficult-to-troubleshoot alerts or error messages. CAUSE

You may receive this error message if a field in your PivotTable contains too many items.


WHAT TO TRY

If you have fields that contain too many unique items, try using page fields or server page fields in your PivotTable.
