SYMPTOMSWhen you copy a selection in Microsoft Word 2000 that contains hidden text, and then paste the selection in a Microsoft Excel 2000 worksheet, the hidden text becomes visible. In contrast, if you paste the selection in Word, the text retains its hidden formatting property. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because Excel does not support hidden text the way Word does. When you copy a selection containing hidden text in Word, it preserves the hidden formatting. That is, when you paste the selection in Word, it retains the hidden property. Because it does not know whether you want to keep the hidden text or not, Excel retains the text, but drops the hidden formatting property. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, after you paste the selection, delete the text you do not want. Additional query words: XL2000
