SYMPTOMSWhen you open an HTML file that contains many different colors, one or more colors do not appear as expected. For example, a color may appear to be a different shade than expected. CAUSEThe color palette that Microsoft Excel uses is limited to 64 colors. When opening an HTML file that contains a color outside of this range of colors, Excel maps the color as closely as possible to a color on its palette. Because this mapped color may not exactly match the color in the HTML file, it may appear to be a different color than expected. Additional query words: XL2000
