SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel, when you load an add-in, existing add-in files may be overwritten.
CAUSEThis behavior may occur when you create an add-in and then load that add-in for the first time. When loading the add-in, Excel may not recognize the existing add-in file and may overwrite it. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, modify the add-in so that the Modified date and time of the add-in file is different than its Created date and time. To do this, when you save your add-in, resave it a second time. This will cause the Modified date and time to be later than the Created date and time. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words:
