SYMPTOMSThe chart data points and line may be missing from an XY (Scatter) chart that you publish as a Web page. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods. Method 1: Use Two SeriesWhen you want to save an XY (Scatter) chart as a Web page with interactivity, always use two series, even if the x values are 1, 2, 3, and so on.Method 2: Use a Line ChartWith the one series of data selected, make the chart a line chart, which will appear the same as the XY (Scatter) chart.MORE INFORMATIONIn an XY (Scatter) chart, if you do not specify x values, Excel will provide generic values for you (1, 2, 3, and so on). This behavior is automatic in Excel. However, when Excel publishes a Web chart with interactivity, it does not save the generic x values. The Web chart does not support generic data, and so will not draw a series unless all of the data dimensions are specified. Because there are no x values, it therefore cannot draw the series data points and line. REFERENCESFor more information about how to put a chart with interactivity on a Web page, click Microsoft Excel Help on the
Help menu, type "Put a chart on a Web page" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard,
and then click Search to view the topic. Additional query words: XL2000
