XL2000: Cannot View Web Page Published from Stand-Alone Excel or Office Small Business

SYMPTOMS
When you open a Web page that you published with Microsoft Excel, you receive the following error message:
To use this Web page interactively, you must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later and the Microsoft Office Web Components. See the Microsoft Office Web site for more information.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You performed either of the following steps when you published your Web page:
- You clicked to select the Add interactivity check box in the Save As dialog box.
-or-
- You clicked to select the Add interactivity with check box in the Publish as Web Page dialog box.
-and-
- You have installed Excel as part of either of the following products:
- Microsoft Excel 2000 stand-alone
-or-
- Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business
The stand-alone version of Excel 2000 and Office 2000 Small Business do not install the Office Web Components, which you need to view the Web page on your computer.
MORE INFORMATION
Although you cannot view the Web page on your computer, you can view the Web page on a computer that already has Office Web Components installed.
If you own Office 2000 Small Business, then you are eligible to install the Office Web Components if someone in your organization has a license for one of the following products:
- Microsoft Office 2000 Premium
- Microsoft Office 2000 Professional
- Microsoft Office 2000 Standard
- Microsoft Access 2000
NOTE: If you own a stand-alone copy of Excel 2000, you are not eligible to install the Office Web Components on your computer.
