ID: Q234123

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Small Business Financial Manager, included with:
    • Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business Tools
  • Microsoft Excel 2000

SYMPTOMS

The Sales by Customer report may show a different sales total than other sales analysis reports. For example, the grand total in the Sales by Totals report or the total revenue amount in the Income Statement may show a different total sales amount than the Sales by Customer report.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you do all of the following:

  • You import data from Quickbooks for Windows, version 7.0.

    -and-

  • Your Quickbooks accounting file contains sales reps assigned to customers.

    -and-

  • You run the Sales by Customer report.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Quickbooks for Windows lets you assign sales reps to individual customer accounts when setting up the accounting file. When you import your Quickbooks for Windows accounting data into Microsoft Excel using the Small Business Financial Manager (SBFM), all the sales data may not be imported for customers who are assigned to a sales rep. If this problem occurs, the incorrect amount will appear on the Sales by Customer report for Sales Analysis.
