XL2000: Embedded Excel Chart Object May Change Shape in PowerPoint 2000

SYMPTOMS

When working in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, the shape of a Microsoft Excel 2000 embedded chart object may change.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you embed an Excel chart object with a pie chart type, and do one of the following:

• You increase the width of a column on its associated sheet.
  
  -or-



• You increase the height of a row on its associated sheet.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, create a link to the Excel chart object in a file, instead of embedding the Excel chart object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
