XL2000: Changes Aren't Saved When Altering or Resetting Toolbars Using Automation

SYMPTOMS

When you alter toolbars using Automation, changes are not saved when you close and then restart Microsoft Excel.

CAUSE

This problem only occurs when you start Excel from a client application using Automation. If you start Excel from the Start menu, the problem does not occur.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, start Excel from the Start menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
