SYMPTOMSThe name of a drawing object that appears in the Name Box appears to increment incorrectly after you draw an object on a worksheet. CAUSE
When Microsoft Excel names a drawing object on a worksheet, it uses a name
that includes a number. This number is incremented by one digit each time
you create a drawing object. When you add a drawing object (for example, a
rectangle) to a worksheet, Microsoft Excel assigns a name to the object
(for example, "Rectangle 1"), which is displayed in the Name Box. When you
create another drawing object on the same worksheet (for example, an oval),
Microsoft Excel assigns a name that includes a number that is one greater
than the number used to name the first object (for example, "Oval 2").
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
