SYMPTOMSWhen you place your mouse pointer over a control which has been placed on a worksheet, the mouse pointer may not change into a small hand. CAUSEPlacing the mouse pointer over an ActiveX control placed on a worksheet will not change the mouse pointer into a small hand. STATUSThis behavior is by design of Microsoft Excel 97. MORE INFORMATION
In Microsoft Excel, there are two types of controls that you can insert on
a worksheet: controls on the Forms toolbar and controls on the Control
Toolbox toolbar. When you insert a control from the Forms toolbar on a
worksheet, your mouse pointer becomes a small hand when placed over the
control. By default, placing your mouse pointer over a control inserted on
the worksheet from the Control Toolbox toolbar will result in the Normal
Select pointer. In either case, clicking the control with the changed mouse
pointer as indicated above will activate the control.
