XL97: Group Name in Name Box Does Not Update

SYMPTOMS

When you ungroup a set of drawing objects, the name that was assigned to the group still appears in the Name box on the formula bar, and the Name box is in edit mode.

CAUSE

You selected the group name in the Name box on the formula bar before you ungrouped the drawing objects.

WORKAROUND

Click in the worksheet to refresh the Name box.

Do not select the group name in the Name box on the formula bar when you want to ungroup a set of drawing objects. Instead, select the group in the worksheet before clicking Ungroup on the Draw menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
