SYMPTOMSWhen you protect a worksheet in Microsoft Excel, you are still allowed to paste data into certain protected cells. You can merge a range of cells into one cell using the Merge Cells command. When you protect a worksheet containing merged cells, you can still paste data into the merged cell using Paste on the Edit menu. However, you still cannot edit the merged cell.
