XL97: Solver Returns Incorrect Result

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Solver add-in in Microsoft Excel 97 to calculate solutions to what-if scenarios based on adjustable cells and constraint cells, the result of the calculation is incorrect and is not the same as the result obtained in Microsoft Excel 5.

Microsoft has created an update to the Solver add-in which corrects this problem. To download this file from the Microsoft Download Center, see the "Resolution" section of this article.
