XL98: "Data Truncated" Error Message Connecting to SQL Server 7.0 Database

SYMPTOMS

When you click OK in the VSI MS SQL Server dialog box, you receive one or both of the following error messages:

Data truncated

-or-

Couldn't read this file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you attempt to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database. The SQL Server ODBC driver that is included with Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition does not support connecting to a SQL Server 7.0 database.
