ACC97: Documenter Does Not Display User and Group Permissions
ID: Q176557
|
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMS
Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
If you run the Documenter on a secured database, and you select the option
to display "Permissions by User and Group," the user and group names are
displayed, but the permissions to the objects for the user and group are
not displayed.
CAUSE
If the database is secured, the Documenter does not allow you to display
User and Group permissions for the objects in the database in a report.
RESOLUTION
If you want to display security information about User and Group
permissions, you must create a custom report that provides this
information.
For example, you can write Visual Basic code that uses data access objects
(DAO) to read and store the permissions for the user and group, and then
create a report to display that information.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access 97.
