CAUSEYou may receive these error messages if you try to open a database file that was created in a newer version of Access than the one you are currently using. For example, if you try to open the Northwind.mdb database that ships with Access 97 in Access 95, you will receive the described error messages. RESOLUTION
You cannot open an Access database with an older version of Access than the version that created the database. If you need to work with a database across multiple versions of Access, you should create the database in the earliest version of Access that you are using, and then enable the database for use in the later version.
